West Lincoln had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cherryville Ironmen a 10-0 shutout. The Rebels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Ironmen, too.

Melony Hoffman was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Abree Sutton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

West Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cherryville only posted a batting average of .167.

West Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-4 loss against East Lincoln on the 26th. As for Cherryville, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against Chase at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
