Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South hadn't done well against Lemont recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Meteors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Lemont HS. This was a revenge game for the Meteors: when they faced off against the Lemont HS back in April, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-29, 25-21, 25-22.

The victory made it two in a row for Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South and bumps their season record up to 6-10. As for Lemont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
