Volleyball Recap: Arlington Wins Going Away Against Elmwood

Arlington's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Elmwood Royals as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Arlington might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Elmwood scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 26-24.

Callie Hartman paced Arlington's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hartman got some help from Ellie Marquart and her 33 assists. Mea Alexander and Mireya Velazquez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Despite the loss, Elmwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Callie Luken had 13 digs. Luken has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

The victory got Arlington back to even at 10-10. As for Elmwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Arlington has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Leipsic on the 8th. As for Elmwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Van Buren on the 8th.
