Basketball Recap: Cape Cod Academy Piles Up the Points Against Falmouth Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cape Cod Academy). They blew past the Falmouth Academy Mariners 80-23 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cape Cod Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Harrison Lauf, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 26 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Those six steals gave Lauf a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mike Berry, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards.

The win snapped Cape Cod Academy's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 2-9 record. As for Falmouth Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Cape Cod Academy has already played their next contest (against Carver), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Falmouth Academy will square off against Sturgis West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
