Softball Recap: El Camino Has No Trouble Against University City

El Camino won the last time they faced University City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Centurions 10-3. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kailey Stanford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, El Camino got a big performance out of Ai'Lynnd A'Ano, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave A'Ano a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Bianca Rocha, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

El Camino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University City only posted a batting average of .154.

The victory made it two in a row for El Camino and bumps their season record up to 11-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for University City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Camino will host Coastal Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for University City, they will welcome San Diego at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
