Volleyball Game Preview: Sunny Hills Lancers vs. Fountain Valley Barons

The Sunny Hills Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Fountain Valley Barons at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Sunny Hills didn't have quite enough to beat San Juan Hills and fell 3-2. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Stallions 25-19 in the first set.

Sunny Hills wouldn't go down easily and took San Juan Hills into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-14, 15-25, 25-15, 18-16.

Meanwhile, Fountain Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Marina on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Barons in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won six in a row.

Fountain Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8. As for Sunny Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-8.

Sunny Hills couldn't quite get it done against Fountain Valley when the teams last played on Saturday as they fell 2-0. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
