Soccer Game Preview: Newton-Conover vs. North Surry

The Newton-Conover Red Devils will square off against the North Surry Greyhounds on Thursday. Newton-Conover will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Newton-Conover is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Lexington get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Newton-Conover might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Lexington with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Vanesa Villa (2), Ingrid Garcia, Stella Phillips, and Allison Rangel.

Meanwhile, North Surry waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Greyhounds who were credited with the win. One seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

North Surry's win bumped their record up to 11-5-4. As for Newton-Conover, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5-3.

Everything went Newton-Conover's way against North Surry when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Newton-Conover made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
