Recap: Strawberry Crest Chargers vs. Sickles Gryphons
The Strawberry Crest Chargers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 67-4 defeat at the hands of Sickles. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Strawberry Crest has scored all season.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Emilee Maynor and
Elektra Ribot, who each put up two points.
It was another big night for Kelsey Sharpe, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 steals for Sickles. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sharpe has scored all season. Beckham Hockley was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with four steals.
Strawberry Crest has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Sickles, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Strawberry Crest will take on Durant at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Durant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday. As for Sickles, they will head out on the road to square off against Alonso at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alonso is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
