Baseball Recap: Edwards County's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Edwards County barely beat Richland County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Evan Rhodes, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cy Nelson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Edwards County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richland County only posted an OBP of .346.

Edwards County's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Richland County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
