Baseball Recap: St. Vincent Takes a Loss

St. Vincent extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 5-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Advance Hornets. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

As for Advance, their win bumped their record up to 10-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 10, 2024.

For Advance's part, Jameson Hamlin was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The Hornets are undefeated when Hamlin posts two or more runs, but 6-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Welch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Looking ahead, St. Vincent will head out to square off against Leopold at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Advance, they will welcome Meadow Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
