Football Recap: Fort Gibson Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fort Gibson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Skiatook Bulldogs 42-22 on Thursday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Cash Keys continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 181 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries, while also picking up 139 receiving yards and one touchdown. Karrson Davis was another key player, rushing for 45 yards and one score.

Fort Gibson's run defense was locked in: Skiatook could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Keys stood above the rest. He rushed for 181 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries, and also picked up 139 receiving yards and one touchdown. Fort Gibson didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.

Despite the loss, Skiatook still got an impressive performance from Cole Bray, who threw for 206 yards and a pair of TDs.

Fort Gibson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.7 points over those games. As for Skiatook, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.
