Basketball Game Preview: Covington Owls vs. Meridian Yellowjackets

The Covington Owls will take on the Meridian Yellowjackets in a tournament on Thursday. Covington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, Covington was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Meridian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (55), the Owls still had to take the loss.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Covington, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3.
