Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Road Wins for Rice Lake

Rice Lake had won seven straight road games and Addison Schmidt did her part to make it eight on Monday. The Rice Lake Warriors enjoyed a cozy 57-42 win over the Hayward Hurricanes thanks in part to Schmidt, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (seven).

Another player making a difference was Adaline Sheplee, who went 9 of 19 en route to 21 points along with six boards and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Rice Lake's points.

Rice Lake is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Hayward, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Rice Lake has already played their next matchup, a 56-51 victory against Marshall on the 4th. As for Hayward, they will host Cumberland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
