Soccer Game Preview: Escondido vs. Mt. Carmel

The Escondido Cougars will take on the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Escondido is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Escondido's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Ramona 4-0. It was an even better day for Anthony Ramirez as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel hasn't lost a match since January 10th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fallbrook, sneaking past 1-0.

Mt. Carmel's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-7-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Escondido, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2-2 record this season.
