Soccer Recap: Smyrna Comes Up Short

Smyrna's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lebanon Blue Devils. Smyrna have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Jose Zetina, which was the first he's scored this season.

Smyrna suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 5-3-1. As for Lebanon, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Smyrna will square off against Stewarts Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smyrna's defense better be ready for this one: Stewarts Creek have averaged an impressive 3 goals per game this season. As for Lebanon, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Cookeville on the 10th.
