Baseball Game Preview: Merritt Academy Mustangs vs. Fitzgerald Spartans

The Merritt Academy Mustangs are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Fitzgerald Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Merritt Academy will be strutting in after a win while Fitzgerald will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Merritt Academy got the win against Landmark Academy by a conclusive 14-5. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with Landmark Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ethan Wolfe was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jackson Dupuis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Fitzgerald came up short against Warren Woods-Tower on Wednesday, falling 12-2.

The win got Merritt Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Fitzgerald, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
