Softball Recap: Geneva Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Geneva was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of New Brockton last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Geneva Panthers took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brantley Bulldogs on Friday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 3, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Geneva's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brantley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Geneva wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-0 victory against Elba on the 7th. As for Brantley, they will welcome Pike Liberal Arts at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Brantley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Pike Liberal Arts' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
