Soccer Game Preview: Brooks vs. Phillips Academy

Brooks will head out to square off against the Phillips Academy Big Blue at 4:03 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Brooks is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Massachusetts' top teams: Middlesex, who was ranked 20th at the time (Brooks was ranked tenth). Brooks fell just short of Middlesex by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The loss was Brooks' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Phillips Academy has been on a difficult stretch since their win on September 4. They fell just short of Choate Rosemary Hall School by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Phillips Academy fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Choate Rosemary Hall School since Saturday.

Having lost for the first time this season, Brooks fell to 7-1. As for Phillips Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

Everything went Brooks' way against Phillips Academy when the teams last played back in September of 2016, as Brooks made off with a 5-0 win. Will Brooks repeat their success, or does Phillips Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
