Softball Game Preview: Sam Rayburn Texans vs. Dawson Eagles

Sam Rayburn hasn't had much luck against Dawson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Texans will head out to face off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Sam Rayburn has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Sam Rayburn's offense. They lost 19-0 to Manvel on Friday. The Texans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sam Rayburn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hazel Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dawson). Their pitchers stepped up to hand South Houston a 21-0 shutout on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Dawson's win bumped their record up to 10-12-1. As for Sam Rayburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Sam Rayburn might still be hurting after the 19-1 loss they got from Dawson in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Texans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
