Softball Game Preview: Corsicana Tigers vs. Crandall Pirates

The Corsicana Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Crandall Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corsicana has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Crandall will come in with three straight victories.

It was a proper cat-fight when Corsicana faced off against Ennis on Tuesday. Corsicana lost 10-3 to Ennis.

Meanwhile, Crandall hadn't done well against Red Oak recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Crandall walked away with a 4-1 win over Red Oak. Four seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Crandall's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Corsicana, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1.

Corsicana suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Crandall when the teams last played on March 4th. Can Corsicana avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
