Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Abernathy's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Abernathy won the last time they faced Ralls and things went their way on Thursday too. The Antelopes were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Jackrabbits. The Antelopes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by ten runs or more this season.

Mallory Gonzalez was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryer Cook, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Abernathy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.

Abernathy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Ralls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14-1.
