Softball Recap: Glen Allen Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Glen Allen's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Hermitage Panthers by a score of 13-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Jaguars have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Heidi Gill, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Hermitage off the board. Gill has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Glen Allen let Ila Goding and Alison Via run wild. Goding got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Via went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Jessie, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Glen Allen's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Hermitage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glen Allen will welcome Matoaca at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hermitage, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m.
