East Noble fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Homestead on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 11-10. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Aubrey Helmkamp was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Shaye Ritchie, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

East Noble's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Homestead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Noble will host Wawasee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Homestead, they will be playing at home against Churubusco at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
