Softball Recap: Osceola Wins Going Away Against Sunlake

Osceola won the last time they faced Sunlake and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors blew past the Seahawks 12-4. Considering the Warriors have won 13 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aliyah Lai spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Osceola got a massive performance out of Bri Shephard, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Osceola was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunlake only posted a batting average of .259.

The win made it two in a row for Osceola and bumps their season record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Sunlake, they moved to 14-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Osceola has already played their next game, a 7-5 win against Land O' Lakes on the 17th. As for Sunlake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 victory against Sickles on the 16th.
