Softball Game Preview: Kearsarge Cougars vs. Raymond Rams

The Kearsarge Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Raymond Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kearsarge comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Belmont hit Kearsarge with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 8-7. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the Cougars' highest-scoring game to date.

Naimah Wilson 2027 and Brooke Aiken 2028 stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilson 2027 went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Aiken 2028 went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Raymond's offense. They fell 4-0 to Newport on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly four runs.

Raymond dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kearsarge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
