Preview: Wall Eagles vs. Hill City Rangers

Wall is on a 12-game streak of home wins, while Hill City is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wall Eagles will take on the Hill City Rangers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wall knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Hill City likes a good challenge.

Wall put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Custer 72-47. Given Wall's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Custer is ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Paige Kjerstad was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Rhea Tucker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Hill City didn't have too much trouble with Sturgis Brown on the road on Tuesday as they won 51-37.

Wall is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Hill City, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Wall took their win against Hill City in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 59-39. Will Wall repeat their success, or does Hill City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
