Caesar Rodney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Lorentz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jadrian Sanchez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Polytech.

Caesar Rodney's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Laurel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Caesar Rodney took their victory against Laurel in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Riders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
