Volleyball Recap: Nathan Green and Cody Abbas Secure Win for Lutheran South

There's no place like home for Lutheran South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

Lutheran South never let Saxony Lutheran on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19.

Lutheran South was led to victory by Cody Abbas and Nathan Green. Abbas had 20 digs and one assist, while Green had nine digs. That's the most digs Green has posted over his last eight matches.

Despite the loss, Saxony Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Jonathan Palmer, who had ten kills and one block.

Lutheran South's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6-2. As for Saxony Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lutheran South and Saxony Lutheran will both be playing Notre Dame the next time they take the court. The Crusaders will host the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Lancers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
