Basketball Recap: Riverview Takes a Loss

Riverview lost against Bloomingdale back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sharks fell 50-40 to the Bulls. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Riverview lost, don't look at Jaiden Woodson. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Woodson has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Chirstopher Almonte, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Bloomingdale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calvin Griffin, who put up 11 points. Lennox Zelaya was another key player, shooting 56% from the field on his way to 13 points.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bloomingdale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Riverview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-53 victory against Spoto on the 9th. As for Bloomingdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-57 loss against Lennard on the 9th.
