Basketball Recap: Marie Philip Piles Up the Points Against New York School for the Deaf

Marie Philip won the last time they faced New York School for the Deaf and things went their way on Friday too. The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts blew past the New York School for the Deaf Golden Tornadoes 57-19. The Galloping Ghosts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Xavier DeLeon was his usual excellent self, going 6-for-15 on his way to 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 55 games he's played dating back to last season. Alexander Forfa was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Marie Philip smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Marie Philip's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for New York School for the Deaf, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
