Pioneer came out on top against Westmont on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 11-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Ben Kennaday, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jayden Flores, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Pioneer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Pioneer back to even at 9-9. As for Westmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17-1 record this season.
