Baseball Recap: Sunday's Win Is Archbishop Ryan's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Archbishop Ryan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Sunday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles. The game was the first time the Raiders and Ragdolls have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 26, 2021.

Jake Marchesano made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Flash Krzywicki, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emil-Favio Monegro, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run.

Archbishop Ryan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8.

As of now, neither Archbishop Ryan nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
