Football Recap: Wilson Starts Season with Victory at Home

Wilson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 38-0 victory over the Kennedy Cougars.

Anniyah Huteson was nothing short of spectacular: she threw for 151 yards and four TDs, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. She didn't just play on offense: she also made two total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception. 106 of Huteson's passing yards were hauled in by Samantha Escarcega, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Wilson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Viririana Flores and Huteson.

Coincidentally, Wilson and Kennedy will both be playing Huntington Park the next time they take the field. The Mules will host the Spartans at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
