Basketball Recap: Hylton Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Elisha Asante and Amari Butler

Hylton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 56-48 to the Charles J. Colgan Sharks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-40 back in January.

Amari Butler and Elisha Asante certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Butler went 8 of 18 en route to 20 points, while Asante posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Asante a new career-high in rebounds (four). Andrew Anderson was another key player, putting up five points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Hylton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Hylton's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Charles J. Colgan, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Hylton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charles J. Colgan, they will face off against Gar-Field at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gar-Field has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
