Webber had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Pope County Pirates by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won five in a row.

Webber easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-12.

Kadi Bain paced Webber's offense, picking up seven kills. Bain got some help from Isabella Caronongan and her eight assists. Edyn Knight controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pope County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Webber has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Wayne City on the 2nd. As for Pope County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Gallatin County on the 27th.
