Football Recap: Forney Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Forney had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lake Highlands Wildcats 37-34. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Jackrabbits' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Wildcats are ranked 168th).

Javian Osborne went supernova, rushing for 220 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. Those 220 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nelson Peterson Jr., who threw for 186 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes.

Looking ahead, Forney will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on A&M Consolidated at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Lake Highlands, they are taking a road trip to take on North Garland at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
