Softball Recap: Choate Rosemary Hall School's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Choate Rosemary Hall School couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 9-5 to the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns on Sunday. The Wild Boars' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Natalia Draghi was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Maggie Swanson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rayna Huang, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Choate Rosemary Hall School's defeat dropped their record down to 16-2. As for Kingswood Oxford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

As of now, neither Choate Rosemary Hall School nor the Wyverns have any future games scheduled.
