The Carrick Raiders will challenge the Aquinas Academy Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Carrick took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Penn Hills 14-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their two-run performance the game before.
Eli Wittmann made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Carrick: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-5 otherwise. Wittmann was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
