Volleyball Recap: Tulare Western Takes a Loss

Tulare Western was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dinuba Emperors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Emperors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss last Thursday.

Dinuba's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmarie Rico, who had 26 assists. That's the most assists Rico has posted over her last four matches. Cambria Gasca-Alderete was another key player, getting eight kills and three aces.

Tulare Western's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Dinuba, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

Tulare Western wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Farmersville on the 2nd. As for Dinuba, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Lompoc on the 2nd.
