Baseball Recap: Oakton Comes Up Short

The matchup between Oakton and West Springfield on Wednesday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Oakton Cougars fell 20-17 to the West Springfield Spartans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (13), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

Oakton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for West Springfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Oakton will challenge Edison at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Springfield, they are taking a road trip to square off against Fairfax at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
