Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hampden). They strolled past the Messalonskee Eagles with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 65-47. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Eagles are ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hampden pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Messalonskee, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampden will challenge Bangor at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hampden has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Messalonskee, they will take on Greely at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
