Baseball Game Preview: Niles Vikings vs. Plainwell Trojans

The Niles Vikings will face off against the Plainwell Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niles is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Saturday, Niles made easy work of St. Joseph and carried off a 13-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Plainwell's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 10-5 to Kalamazoo Central.

Niles' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Plainwell, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Niles beat Plainwell 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
