Basketball Recap: Wilson Prep Skates Past Northampton County with Ease

Wilson Prep had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-16 victory over the Northampton County Jaguars. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 25 points or more this season.

Wilson Prep found their leader in freshman Paris Best, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, nine assists, and ten steals. With that strong performance, Best is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Nakiya Boston, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points and five steals.

Wilson Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Wilson Prep's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Northampton County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Wilson Prep and Southern Nash will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Wilson Prep has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three games. As for Northampton County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Mount Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
