Soccer Game Preview: Bruton vs. Smithfield

Bruton hasn't had much luck against Smithfield recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home pitch against the Packers at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bruton challenged Tabb on Wednesday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Bruton fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Tabb since Wednesday.

Bruton's goal came courtesy of Tim Walson, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Smithfield kept a clean sheet against Lafayette on Friday. They beat the Rams by a goal, winning 1-0.

Smithfield's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bruton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
