Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Tech/Apollo Gets the Win

St. Cloud Tech/Apollo proved they can win big back in December of 2025 (they won by 20) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 45-44 win over the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-43 back in December of 2025.

Despite the loss, Sauk Rapids-Rice still got an impressive performance from Brooklyn Widmer, who posted 16 points. That was a full 36.4% of the Storm's points, marking the fourth time in a row Widmer has scored more than a third of the team's points. Madelyn Morrison was another key player, putting up nine points.

St. Cloud Tech/Apollo's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.

St. Cloud Tech/Apollo will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Big Lake at 7:15 p.m. on the 19th. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-35 loss against Detroit Lakes on the 2nd.
