Basketball Recap: Lakewood Presbyterian Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Mary's

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakewood Presbyterian). They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 win over St. Mary on Thursday.

Lakewood Presbyterian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reagan Armstrong, who went 9-for-15 on her way to 21 points and five boards. Those 21 points gave Armstrong a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alice Escobar, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Lakewood Presbyterian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Lakewood Presbyterian has already played their next matchup, a 46-20 loss against Wylie Prep Academy on the 20th. As for St. Mary's, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Poetry Community Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
