Basketball Recap: Gibson County Comes Up Short

Gibson County lost to South Gibson back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pioneers took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The matchup marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Gibson County's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for South Gibson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Gibson County and South Gibson will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pioneers will challenge rival Union City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, South Gibson is set to square off against their familiar foe Obion County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
