Baseball Game Preview: Coventry Christian vs. Plumstead Christian

Coventry Christian lost 15-1 to High Point Baptist Academy last Monday.

Plumstead Christian never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Church Farm on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Griffens. The result was nothing new for Plumstead Christian, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Declan Glass made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Plumstead Christian's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Dear, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aaron Miller, who earned two RBI and one run.

Coventry Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Plumstead Christian, their record now sits at 5-3.
