Baseball Game Preview: McMinn County Cherokees vs. Rhea County Golden Eagles

For the second straight game, McMinn County will face off against Rhea County. The Cherokees will host the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, McMinn County turned things around against Rhea County on Monday. They came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 5-2.

For Rhea County's part, Alex Latshaw was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. What's more, Latshaw gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Rhea County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casen Kinney, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Kinney is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another was Corydon Butler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Rhea County's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for McMinn County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
