Basketball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport and Mascoma squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Newport had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 87-53 to the Mascoma Royals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Mascoma, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

As of now, neither Newport nor Mascoma have any future games scheduled.
